Coorgzone

Up here in Madikeri, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We operate out of Soodana House, which is in Block No 21 in the Dechur area. If you know Coorg, you know it rains a lot, and sometimes that makes getting around a bit of a challenge. Our office isn’t much to look at from the outside, just a regular building in a residential-looking block. We started Coorgzone because we wanted to have something of our own here in the hills. We handle a lot of local information and services. It’s mostly just us sitting at our desks with a view of the trees outside. We don't have a big marketing budget or a sales team. It’s just local people talking to other local people. Some days are very quiet, and we just spend time updating our records or talking to the neighbors. Other days, we get quite a few visitors asking for help or looking for details about the area. We try to be helpful where we can. It’s a bit cold in the winters, so we usually have a heater running under the desk. We’ve lived in Dist Coorg our whole lives, so we know the place inside out. This isn't a high-pressure business. It’s just our way of making a living in the place we love. We take things as they come and try to keep the atmosphere relaxed for everyone.
