Coorg Coffee Hills

Coorg Coffee Hills is based out of Madikeri at 67/23. Being in the Coorg district, we are surrounded by hills and a lot of green. This area is famous for coffee, and we are just one of the many small operations trying to get the beans from the trees to the people who drink it. Our place is more of a warehouse and a small processing area than a shop. We deal with the beans after they have been picked, drying them out and getting them ready for the next stage. The weather here in Madikeri can be quite wet, so we are always checking the skies to make sure our beans stay dry. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving heavy bags and sorting through piles. We don't have fancy brochures or a shiny storefront. Most people find us through word of mouth or by seeing our sign near the road. The smell of coffee is thick in the air around here, especially when the season is in full swing. We are just a small group of people who know the land and the crop. Our office is just a small desk in the corner of the shed with a ledger and an old phone. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the harvest is on. We just focus on doing our bit in the whole coffee cycle. We often share a pot of tea while we wait for the trucks.
