Jain Heritage School

The school is situated on Krs Road in the Metagalli area. Mysore has a different pace than the bigger cities, but it’s still busy enough around here. The school grounds have some space, and you can see a bit of green if you look out the upper windows. I’ve been coming here for work for a while now, and you get used to the sound of the traffic from the main road. The building itself feels solid, like it’s been around long enough to know its place in the neighborhood. We spend our mornings setting up the classrooms and making sure the registers are ready for the day. It’s not a place with a lot of shiny glass or modern art; it’s just brick and mortar and a lot of students. The corridors can get quite noisy when the kids are moving between periods. During the break, you can smell the food from the canteen, which is usually something local. We don't talk much about big goals in the staff room; we mostly talk about the cricket score or what’s happening in the news. It’s a practical environment. We make sure the kids are doing their work and that the bells ring on time. When the day ends, the sun sets over the road, and we all head out, leaving the empty classrooms behind until the next morning starts it all over again.
