Our place is in the Bliss Compound, which is tucked away on Nivetia Road. A lot of the older folks around here still call it Haji Bapu Road, so we usually tell people both names so they don’t get lost. We are in Malad East. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but it’s a good area. Zen Batteries is what we call ourselves. The compound has a few other businesses, so there’s always a bit of truck movement and people hauling stuff around. Our space is mostly taken up by heavy battery blocks and charging cables. It smells a bit like metal and old dust in here, but we don't mind it. We have a small table where we keep our logbook and a radio that usually plays the local station. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it yet. Most of the day is spent checking connections and moving stock around. It’s physically hard work, so we take our breaks seriously. Usually, we sit by the entrance of the compound to catch a breeze. Malad East is a busy part of the city, and being in Bliss Compound feels like we are in our own little world. We have been here long enough that the local delivery guys don't even need to look at the map anymore.
