Yogeshwar Steel Forge

We've been at the Parnakuti Building for quite a while now. It's a busy spot on Prabhu Shri Ram Mandir Marg. Mostly we deal with steel forging. It’s loud and hot work, but that’s what we do every day. People come to us for different metal parts. The shop isn't fancy. There's dust and the smell of iron everywhere. We just focus on getting the shapes right. If someone brings a drawing, we try to match it. Some days are busier than others. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them ourselves. Yogeshwar Steel Forge isn't a big factory. We are a small team. Most of the guys have been here for years. We know the neighborhood well. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard for deliveries to arrive on time. The building itself is old. We occupy the ground floor space at 39/41. It gets crowded with raw material stacked up. We don't have a website or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth or just walking by. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for the furnace to heat up. It's just how the work goes here. Nothing more to it. We just keep the hammers moving and handle the orders as they come in. The road outside is always packed with trucks. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading crates. It's manual work. Our hands are usually covered in grease by noon.
