The trains at Nahar Station are so loud sometimes you can’t hear yourself think over the cranes. We’ve been here in Bhandup-West for quite a bit now, right on Village Road. It’s a busy spot, mostly trucks and people heading to work. We spend most of our mornings checking the gear and making sure the engines don’t give us any trouble in the heat. It’s not a fancy office, just a place where we do what we need to do. Some days are slower than others. We drink tea from the guy around the corner while we wait for the next job to come in. The dust from the road covers everything, so we’re always wiping down the windows of the machines. We didn't plan on being here forever when we started, but now it feels like home. Our neighbors know us, and we know them. It’s a lot of metal and grease around here. People come by asking for help with this or that, and if we can help, we do. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a total mess, but that’s just how it goes in Mumbai. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how these machines work. We keep things simple and try to finish our work before the sun goes down and the traffic gets really bad. It's just Wmi Cranes Ltd. doing what we know best in this little corner of the city.
