Being near Maga Mall on Link Road in Jogeshwari West is a busy spot for a towing business. S P Towing Service has been here for a good while now. Towing cars isn't exactly a glamorous job, but it's what we do. The traffic on Link Road is always a struggle, especially when someone’s engine decides to quit in the middle of the afternoon. We get calls at all sorts of hours, usually when people are stressed and just want to get home. My brother and I take turns sleeping near the phone. The truck is getting a bit old and the paint is peeling in some places, but it’s strong. It has never let us down on a heavy pull. We know all the back alleys and shortcuts around Jogeshwari to get to people faster. Sometimes the rain makes everything a mess and the chains get all muddy, but you just wipe them down and keep going. The yard where we keep the vehicles is small, so we have to park them very carefully to fit everyone in. It’s a lot of manual work and my hands are usually stained with oil by the end of the day. We don't have a front desk or anything, just a small stool and a notebook to write down the addresses. It’s a straightforward job for us, helping folks get their cars moved when they are stuck.
