Burhani Trading Company

Our shop is number seven in the Shamji Morarji Wadi area, right off Chapsi Bhimji Road in Mazgaon. It’s an old part of town and everyone knows everyone else around here. Burhani Trading Company has been operating out of this spot for a good while. The space is filled with stock from floor to ceiling, so you have to be careful where you step. It’s a busy trading spot, especially in the mornings when the deliveries start coming in. Being near Shamji Morarji Wadi means there is always something going on outside. We handle various goods and try to keep the inventory straight, though it gets messy during the busy season. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that right now. Mazgaon is a great place to be for a trading business like ours. We see a lot of regular faces coming through the door every week. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping the wheels turning here. We deal with suppliers and customers all day, mostly over a cup of tea. It’s a straightforward life, just buying and selling and making sure the counts are right at the end of the day. We don't use any high-tech systems, just our notebooks and years of experience. Sometimes we stay late to finish the counting if a big shipment arrived that morning.
