West Asia Exports & Imports is on the first floor of New Harilela House. You’ll find us on Mint Road in Mumbai, which is a busy area to say the least. We’ve been here for a good while now. Our office isn't anything like the high-rise buildings you see in the photos. It’s a bit older, with tall ceilings and windows that let in the Mumbai heat. We spend our days dealing with shipping containers and a lot of customs paperwork. It’s mostly phone calls and emails to people in different time zones. We keep a couple of old clocks on the wall to make sure we aren't calling someone in the middle of their night. The first floor is convenient because we don't have to wait for the lift, which is good because it breaks down sometimes. Our desks are covered in folders and ledgers. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you'll just see us working. There is a small tea stall nearby that we visit twice a day. It’s a simple setup for a business that moves goods across borders. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It’s just us doing the daily work of export and import. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a week. It’s just life in Mumbai on Mint Road.
