Well Worth Tea

You can find us at Masjid Bunder West, down in Sujata Chamber on the ground floor. It’s a very busy part of the city with people carrying heavy sacks and handcarts everywhere you look. Our place always smells like dried tea leaves because that is basically all we have here. We spend a lot of time opening boxes and checking the quality of what comes in from the gardens. It’s a dusty business, honestly. We have a small area where we boil water to taste the different batches. The floor is usually covered in some stray leaves by the end of the day. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that, just a place where business happens. Most of our customers are traders who have been coming to this market for decades. We sit on these wooden stools and talk about the market prices while drinking a lot of tea ourselves. The noise from the street is constant, so you have to talk a bit louder to be heard. It is a very old-fashioned way of working, but it’s what we know. We’ve been in this ground floor unit for a long time now. We don't do much in terms of marketing, people just know we are here in the chamber. It’s just how things are in Masjid Bunder, always busy and a bit chaotic. We just try to keep up with the daily orders.
