Java Grind Coffee Co

We started Java Grind Coffee Co right out of Flat 16/1 in Shastri Nagar. It’s in Santacruz West. It might seem strange to have a coffee business in an apartment building, but that’s how we got going. We didn't want to pay the crazy rents for a shop on the main road. The place always smells like roasted beans, which I guess the neighbors don't mind too much. It’s a small operation. We spend our mornings sorting through bags and checking orders. My sister helps with the packing and I handle the deliveries. We use a small grinder that makes a lot of noise, so we try not to run it too early. Mumbai is a city that loves its tea, but we found enough people who wanted good coffee. We don't have any fancy signs or a big storefront with lights. If you come looking for us, you just look for the flat number. It’s very casual here. We often have boxes stacked in the hallway when a new shipment arrives. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to sell decent coffee to people who appreciate it. Sometimes we run out of stock and have to tell people to wait. We don't have a big corporate supply chain. It’s just us doing what we can from our home. It’s a bit cramped but it works.
