Vissanji Academy

Vissanji Academy is located on Dr. S. Radhakrishna Marg, just off Old Nagardas Road in Andheri East. This part of Andheri has a specific feel to it, a bit older and very lived-in. We are right in the middle of a neighborhood where people have stayed for decades. The school building stands out a bit, but it’s really just another part of the local scenery now. Every morning, the street gets narrow with all the parents and vans coming through for drop-offs. We have a small staff that knows most of the families by name because people tend to stick around this area. The classrooms are filled with the usual wooden benches and blackboards. We don’t go in for anything too fancy or modern if the old stuff still works fine. You’ll often find us cleaning up the playground or fixing a leaky tap in the washrooms. It’s a hands-on kind of place. During the monsoons, we have to keep an eye on the roof, but so far, we’ve managed to stay dry. The atmosphere inside is practical. We don't have big meetings about corporate vision; we mostly just talk about who is covering which class and what to do if the power goes out for an hour. It’s a solid, reliable place for the kids in this corner of Andheri to come and learn their lessons every day. It feels like a second home to those of us who spend all our time here.
