Virendra Steel Corporation

Virendra Steel Corporation is based out of the Ahmed Building on Islampura Street. It’s right there on Tilak Marg, which is a busy stretch as many people know. Our door number is 428. The building itself is one of those older structures that has seen a lot of years. We have stacks of steel here and there, and the air always smells a bit like metal. It’s a cramped space, but we make it work. Every morning starts with opening up the heavy shutters and letting some air in. Tilak Marg is always noisy with buses and cars honking, so we have to talk pretty loud to hear each other. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific size or type of steel, we usually know exactly which pile it’s in. The Ahmed Building is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We spend our afternoons dealing with deliveries and making sure the paperwork is filed away in the old metal cabinets. It’s not a high-tech operation. We still use a lot of paper and pens for our records. It gets a bit dark inside when the sun goes down, but we have some good lights over the main work area. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out. There’s no big secret to how we do things, we just stay busy and stay here until the job is done.
