Vikram Kashalkar

Vikram Kashalkar works out of 149 B on B J Marg in the Kalbadevi area. This is a very old and crowded part of Mumbai, right in Thakurdwar. The building has a lot of history, though that mostly means the stairs are a bit narrow and the walls could use some fresh paint. It is a very busy neighborhood to work in. There is a constant sea of people outside, and the noise from the traffic on B J Marg is something you just have to get used to over time. The office itself is small and functional. We have a few desks crammed into the space, along with a lot of files and technical books. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are almost always humming at full speed. We do not have any corporate branding or a fancy lobby area for visitors. It is just a place where we sit down and get our work done. Most days involve a lot of phone calls and looking through various documents. We usually grab lunch from one of the local food stalls nearby; the street food in this part of Mumbai is actually one of the highlights of the day. It is an honest, hardworking atmosphere. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We are right here in the thick of the city. It is a practical setup for us, and being in Thakurdwar means we are right in the center of the action.
