Vibgyor Shipping is located at 17, Police Court Line in the Fort area of Mumbai. This part of the city has so much history, with all those old stone buildings and narrow alleys. Our office is in one of those classic structures. The ceilings are high, but the space feels a bit tight because we have so many files piled up everywhere. Working in Fort means you’re always around the bustle of the courts and the banks. You can hear the taxis honking outside all day long. We have some old wooden windows that we keep shut during the monsoon because they leak a little. Inside, it’s a mix of old furniture and some newer computers that look a bit out of place. We mostly handle shipping stuff, so there’s a lot of back and forth on the phones. We aren't the type to have a fancy website or a polished image. We’re just a bunch of people who have been working in this neighborhood for years. Most of us take the train in every morning, so the day starts with us cooling off under the fans. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the cricket scores while we work through the paperwork. It’s a very traditional Mumbai office environment, where everyone knows everyone else’s business and we just keep the shipping services running as best we can. Sometimes we stay late when a ship is coming in, but that's just the nature of the job.
