Venus Tea Corporation

I've been working at Venus Tea Corporation for a while now. We are located at Plot No. 3/31, inside the New Bhagwan Bhuvan building on Samuel Street. If you know Masjid Bunder, you know how hectic it gets around here. Being so close to the Masjid Bunder Station means there is a constant stream of people and noise. Sometimes it is hard to hear yourself think when the trains go by or the trucks are honking on the street outside. Our office isn't anything like those fancy ones you see in magazines. It’s a bit old, with some peeling paint and stacks of tea sacks piled up in the corners. The smell of raw tea is everywhere, which stays on your clothes even after you go home. We spend most of our mornings just sorting through arrivals. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and manual labor. My desk is usually covered in little bits of paper and tea samples that have spilled out. We don’t have a fancy coffee machine or a break room. We just sit where we can and have our tea from a local stall. It’s a tough place to work during the monsoon because the street floods a bit, but we managed to keep the stock dry. It’s just a regular local business, nothing more. We do our best to keep things moving and get the tea where it needs to go. It’s not glamorous, but it is our daily life here on Samuel Street.
