Varun Industries

Varun Industries is tucked away in Byculla. If you’ve been to this part of Mumbai, you know how it is. It’s old, it’s crowded, and there is a lot of history in these narrow lanes. Our workshop isn't much to look at from the outside. It has that old industrial feel with high ceilings and walls that have seen a lot of years. We do a lot of manufacturing work here. The machines are loud and they run for most of the day. There is always a layer of dust on the windows, but that is just how it goes in a place like this. We have been operating out of Byculla because it is central and the workers live nearby. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a reception desk. You just walk in and you are right there where the work happens. We mostly focus on getting the orders out on time. The floor is usually covered with scraps or metal bits depending on what we are making that week. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we have these big old fans that hum all day long. We don’t spend money on advertising or shiny signs. Most people find us because they know we have been here for a long time. It’s a straightforward operation. We show up, we run the machines, and we head home when the job is finished.
