We’re located at 68 Nanubhai Desai Road, which is right by the Kundena Halli Gate and not far from the Round Temple. It’s an old part of the city, and the streets are usually pretty narrow and crowded. Dealing with metal in this area can be a bit of a challenge because of the space, but we make it work. We have all kinds of metal pieces coming in and out of the shop every day. It’s a loud place with the sound of metal hitting metal, and it smells like iron most of the time. We’ve been here for years, and we know most of the other shop owners on the street. Our space is filled with scraps and new stock, and there isn't much room for anything else. We don't have a showroom or anything fancy. People just come to the door and tell us what they’re looking for. It’s dirty work and we’re always covered in some kind of grime by the time we close up. The Round Temple is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the weights are right. It’s a practical business, nothing more. We just stay here and do the work that needs doing, day in and day out, regardless of the heat or the monsoon rains. It’s just the nature of the trade around Nanubhai Desai Road.
