Under The Banyan Tree Cafe

Our little spot is called Under The Banyan Tree Cafe and you can find us at 34 A on Sophia College Lane, right near Altamount Road and Pedder Road. It is not a very large place, but we make it work with the space we have. Being so close to the college means we get a lot of students coming in between their classes. They usually grab a quick drink or sit in the corner to finish their work. The street outside can get really crowded with traffic, so it’s a bit of a relief when you step inside. We have a few tables and chairs that have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough. We don't have a massive menu with hundreds of options. We just stick to the snacks and drinks we know how to make. Sometimes the coffee machine acts a bit temperamental in the mornings, but we usually get it going after a few tries. Our staff is just a couple of us who live nearby. We do the cleaning, the cooking, and the serving all by ourselves. It keeps us busy from the time we open the shutters until we lock up at night. We don't really do much in terms of fancy decorations. We just like having a place where people can sit down for a bit without any fuss. The name of the cafe is just what it is, and we try to keep the atmosphere calm enough for everyone who comes through.
