Typhoo India is based in Apeejay House. The address is 3 Dinshaw Vachha, right in the Churchgate area. It’s a nice part of the city to be in. You have the sea nearby and the old architecture. Apeejay House is a sturdy building that’s been around for a long time. We work with tea, which is something most people in India have a strong connection to. Even though the brand is well-known, our office feels like a local operation. We have our desks set up and we spend a lot of time on the phone or in meetings. There’s nothing too fancy about how we do things. We just try to stay organized. Churchgate is always active, especially with the station so close by. You can feel the energy of the city right outside the window. Inside, we just focus on the logistics and the business of selling tea. We don't have any grand mission statements pinned to the walls. We just want to make sure the boxes get where they are supposed to go. Some days are busier than others. When a new shipment comes in or a big order needs to go out, we all have to pitch in. It’s a collaborative environment but it’s very down-to-earth. We are just a team of people who like tea and know how the market works. Being at 3 Dinshaw Vachha feels like being at the center of everything.
