Neville House has a certain feel to it that you don't find in modern glass buildings. We are located on J.N. Heredia Marg in the Ballard Estate area, which is full of old stone architecture and wide streets. It’s a very historic part of Mumbai. Working here, you really feel the age of the company. We’ve been around for a very long time, through different eras of the city. The rooms have high ceilings and the windows look out over the quiet lanes of the estate. Most of our work revolves around managing the various parts of the textile business. There’s a lot of history in the archives here, but we are mostly focused on what’s happening today. The desks are covered with fabric samples and thick ledgers. It’s not just about the name on the building; it’s about the people who show up every day to keep things running. We walk to the nearby cafes for lunch, passing the old shipping offices. The pace here is a bit different from the rest of the city. It’s more deliberate. We deal with manufacturing and sales, and there’s always a meeting going on somewhere in the building. It’s a solid place to work, grounded in something that has lasted for generations. We don't need much flash or show to do our jobs. It’s just about being consistent and keeping the looms of the business turning.
