We’ve been tucked away in the Mahavir Industrial Estate for a while now. If you know the Kanchpada area in Malad West, you know it gets pretty busy around here, especially on Ramchandra Lane Extension. Our units are 107 and 108. It’s not a fancy showroom with glass walls or anything. It’s mostly just us working with home appliances every day. Some days the fans are rattling and other days it’s quiet while we wait for a delivery. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break. We handle a lot of different machines. Most of the time, the floor is covered with boxes or spare parts that need sorting. It’s a bit of a maze inside. People come by asking for help with their fridges or washing machines and we just do what we can. The monsoon makes the walk from the station a bit muddy, but we're used to it by now. It’s a local operation. We don’t have a big marketing team writing stuff for us. We just open the shutters in the morning and get to work. Malad has changed a lot since we started, with more buildings popping up, but the estate feels the same. It’s a practical place for people who just want their stuff fixed without a lot of fuss. We keep the ledger on the desk and try to stay organized, even when things get hectic.
