The shop is tucked away in 6, P.V. Kurlawala Compound over on Laxmi Narayan Mandir Marg. If you are coming down Kherani Road in Sakinaka, you know how busy it gets around here. It is always a bit of a squeeze with the trucks and the rain in the monsoon. We have been working with steel in this spot for a while. The compound has a few other businesses too, so there is always something going on nearby. It is not a very quiet place, but you get used to the noise of the cutters and the banging of metal. Our space is not huge, but we make it work for everything we need to do. Most of us have been here for years and we know the routine like the back of our hands. We deal with various steel bits, mostly cutting and shaping what people ask for. The Laxmi Narayan Mandir is right there, so that is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us the first time. It gets hot inside during the summer, especially when the machines have been running all morning. We just grab some tea from the stall outside and keep going. It is honest work, and we do not try to make it sound like more than it is. Just a bunch of guys in Andheri East working with steel until the day is done. The floor is always covered in shavings and the air smells like iron.
