Teaxlive

If you ever find yourself wandering around Masjid Bunder (W), you might come across the Hingkee Building on Samuel Street. We are way up on the 4th floor in Room No. 406. Teaxlive is what's written on the door, though it’s a bit small. Being in this part of town means there is always a lot of noise from the street below. Handcarts are everywhere and the stairs in this building can be a real workout if the lift is acting up again. We spend most of our time at our desks dealing with various tea samples and shipments. It’s a tight space with boxes stacked up in the corners. Sometimes it feels like we are living among the tea leaves. We aren't a big corporation with glass walls. It’s just a few of us making sure the logistics get handled. The air smells like spices and dry leaves from all the other shops nearby. We handle the paperwork, talk to the suppliers, and try to keep things organized. It's not always easy when the phone is ringing and the delivery guys are shouting at the door. We've been in this room for quite some time now. It’s got a view of the roofs, which is nice when you need a break. Most of our day is spent checking quality and making sure the crates go to the right place. It's honest work and we stay busy from morning till evening.
