Tea Trading Company

Tea Trading Company is located at Shop No- 10 in the Kala Chowk area of Lalbagh. We have been working out of this spot in Chinchpokli for quite some time now. You can find us right near the Godrej Properties building, which is what most people use to find their way here. Inside the shop, it is mostly just stacks of heavy sacks and the strong smell of raw tea leaves. It is a busy place, especially in the mornings when the new stock arrives. The humidity in Mumbai often makes the paperwork stick to the desk, but we just keep moving. It is a small space, so you have to be careful not to trip over the wooden crates. We have an old ceiling fan that makes a bit of a rattling noise, but it keeps the air moving. People from the neighborhood often drop by just to ask for directions to the nearby construction sites, and we point them the right way before getting back to weighing the tea. We do not have any fancy furniture or a big sign. The one we have is getting a bit old and faded from the sun. Our staff knows the local streets well and we see the same people walking past every day. It is just a regular place where tea comes in and goes out. We keep things simple because that is just easier for everyone involved in the daily work.
