Te-A-Me

Te-A-Me is based in the Amir Industrial Estate at unit number 215. We are inside the Sun Mill Compound in Lower Parel. If you know Mumbai at all, you know how busy this area gets every single day. The building is old and there is always something going on in the hallways. We have a modest space where we do all our work. The elevator is quite cranky and loud, so we usually just end up taking the stairs to the second floor. Being in an industrial compound means there is a lot of noise from other workshops and people moving things around. We spend our time blending and packing up the tea. It is a bit like a maze trying to find our door if you haven't been here before. We have been in this spot for several years now. The tea arrives in large wooden crates and we have to break them down by hand. It can be quite dusty work. The lights in the back of the room are a bit dim but we have a good table near the window. Sometimes when it rains really hard, the water splashes against the glass and we have to move the bags away. It is just how things are in these old South Mumbai estates. We just keep our heads down and try to get all the orders out on time. It is a fast life but we are used to the pace by now.
