Tanish Steel

Tanish Steel is located at 11 Opera House, inside the Po Khakhar Building. If you know Mumbai, you know Opera House is a real hub for all kinds of trade. Our building is one of those older ones that has seen a lot of history. We deal in steel, and while the space isn't huge, we manage to get a lot done. It’s often quite crowded with people moving in and out, and the noise of the street outside never really stops. We spend most of our time dealing with orders and talking to suppliers. The office is basically just a few desks and a lot of files. We don’t have much room for anything that isn't related to the business. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a fan that keeps things moving. Working in this part of the city means you have to be quick and you have to know your stuff, because everything moves so fast. We’ve been at this for a while and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we’re still here in the same spot. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like being in the middle of all the action. People know they can just drop by the building and find us on the first floor. We don't really bother with big signs or anything. It's just us and the steel and the daily work.
