You can find Sycom Power Protection on L.B.S Road, specifically near Ayesha Masjidh Road on the 6th Cross. Our place is number 108. We focus on things like UPS systems and batteries, so the shop is full of heavy equipment. It’s not the kind of place where you come to browse; people usually come here because they have a specific problem with their power backup. The smell of lead and plastic is pretty common inside. We spend a lot of time testing units and checking voltage levels. The workbench is always cluttered with multimeters and copper wires. It’s a bit of a maze with all the crates stacked up. Being on L.B.S Road means it’s always loud outside with horns and engines, but we’ve learned to talk over it. Most of our work involves going out to different sites or fixing units that people drop off in their autos. We have a small team, and we all wear work clothes that usually have a bit of grease on them. There’s no fancy reception area, just a counter where we write out the bills. When the monsoon comes, everyone starts worrying about their power, so we get much busier. We just keep our heads down and work through the pile of repairs.
