Gajendra Transformer Inds. is located at W-82 in the M I D C area of Anand Nagar, Ambernath East. Even though the mailing address says Dadar East, we are out here in the industrial zone where there is more space for heavy work. Working with transformers means our place is full of heavy metal, coils, and oil. It’s a loud environment with the sound of tools and moving parts. The floor is usually a bit greasy, and everyone wears old clothes because you’re bound to get dirty. It’s not a place for someone in a clean suit. We’ve been at W-82 for a long time. The commute to Ambernath East can be long, but this is where the work happens. We don't have a marketing brochure or a fancy mission statement. We just build and fix transformers. Some days are long, especially when a big order comes in or something goes wrong with a machine. We take our breaks in a small corner with some tea and snacks. The industrial estate is a community of its own. We know the guys at the neighboring units. It’s a very hands-on job. We don't spend much time on computers unless we have to. Most of the day is spent on the shop floor. Gajendra Transformer Inds. is just a group of workers doing a tough job in a dusty part of town. We just keep our heads down and work. It's what we've been doing for years now.
