Sushilp Design Associates

Sushilp Design Associates is based at No 2 Alok Apartment, which is right across from the Gomantak Society on Mahant Road in Vile Parle East. The location is pretty easy to find if you are familiar with the neighborhood. We have been working out of this ground-floor office for several years. It is a space filled with rolls of drawings, architectural scales, and plenty of pens. We do not have a fancy interior designer for our own office; it is just functional. The walls are mostly white, covered with bits of tape from where we pin up our sketches. Vile Parle East has a specific feel to it, and we like being part of the local community. It is not far from the station, which helps with the commute. The room can get a bit dusty with all the paper moving around, but we manage. We do not really have formal meetings with coffee service. We just pull up a chair and talk through the designs. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play in the street outside, and you can hear them through the windows. It is a real place with real people doing work they understand. We do not use much jargon here. We just draw things up and make sure they look right before they go out. It is a steady pace, and we are happy with how things are set up in Alok Apartment. It is a quiet street for the most part.
