We’ve got our office at 209 in the Arihant Building on Ahmedabad Street, which is right in the heart of the Iron Market. If you’ve ever been to the Iron Market, you know it’s a place of heavy trucks and lots of rust. Our building is always busy with people going up and down the stairs. The office itself is small and packed with files and ledgers from years of business. We spend the whole day talking to brokers and buyers about the current price of steel and what’s available in the yards nearby. It’s a loud area, with the sounds of metal clanging against metal coming from the street below. We don’t have much in the way of comfort, just some basic chairs and a desk that’s been here since we opened. The windows stay shut most of the time to keep out the dust from the market, but you can still feel the heat. We keep a calendar on the wall to mark down when shipments are supposed to arrive at the docks or the warehouse. It’s a lot of fast talking and scribbling notes on scraps of paper. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just basic steel trading like everyone else on this street. It’s honest work, and we know almost everyone in the Arihant Building by name now.
