If you have ever been to Masjid Bunder West, you know how packed it is. Our shop is number 90 in the Ashok Market on the ground floor. It’s a tight space, but we fit a lot of inventory in there. Mostly pipes and fittings stacked up high. You have to watch your head sometimes. Being in Janji, the area is always moving with carts and people carrying loads. We spend the day moving heavy metal and plastic pieces around. It’s dirty work and our clothes usually show it by noon. The market is loud with everyone shouting and the sound of trucks unloading. We just stay in our corner and get the orders ready. There isn't much room for a fancy showroom, so everything is just piled where we can find it. Usually, we are drinking tea from the stall nearby while we wait for the next delivery. It gets hot inside during the summer months since the air doesn't move much in these old market buildings. We know most of the other traders around here. It's a busy life, always checking the stock and making sure we have what people are looking for. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop where people come to talk face to face. It’s honest trading, handled on the ground floor of a busy Mumbai street.
