Sunil Steel Traders

Sunil Steel Traders is based out of Borivali East, specifically in the Ami Co-Operative Housing Society. We are up on the fifth floor in room 504. It’s a bit different running a steel business from a residential building, but it works for us because most of our work is done over the phone or at the sites where the steel is actually being delivered. We deal with various types of steel products, mainly for construction and local fabricators who need materials for their projects. Karter Road Number 8 is usually packed with cars and people going to the Megha Handloom shop right across from us. My brother and I manage the orders and talk to the suppliers to make sure we have enough stock coming in. We don't keep the heavy beams here at the office, of course, that would be impossible. Instead, we coordinate everything from this desk. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the trucks are on time. Borivali is a busy place to do business, and the noise from the street is something we have just learned to live with over the years. We started this because we knew a bit about the building trade and saw that people needed steel supplies. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of talking to drivers and checking invoices. We’ve been here long enough that the guards at the gate know us well. We usually have lunch right here at the desk to keep things moving.
