Sunil Forgings Steel Industries Unit No 2

Down here in Mazgaon Darukhana, specifically on the 4th Lane off Reay Road, things are always noisy. This is our second unit for Sunil Forgings Steel Industries. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always trucks moving around and the smell of metal in the air. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while. The floor is usually covered in scrap and it stays pretty hot near the machines. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. My father started the first unit and I took over this one. We deal with heavy steel parts every day. You have to be careful walking around because of all the equipment. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. The neighborhood isn't exactly pretty, it's just workshops and warehouses everywhere. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the paperwork. Most of the guys have been with us for years. We eat lunch together on the big wooden table in the back. It’s a busy life, especially when big orders come in and we have to stay late. We don't do anything fancy here, just forging and moving steel. It’s just how things go on 4th Lane. We keep the machines running as much as we can. It’s loud and dirty, but it’s honest work that keeps us busy from morning until night. There is always something to be hammered or moved.
