Sun Steels

Our office is located in Steel Chambers on Maheshwari Road. It’s a building where a lot of people in the metal trade have their desks. We are in 403-D, which is a bit of a walk through the hallways, but we’ve been here long enough that everyone knows the way. We don't manufacture the steel ourselves; we handle the trading and the logistics of getting it from the plants to the buyers. It involves a lot of time on the computer and even more time on the phone. My desk is usually a mess of invoices and delivery notes. We deal with various grades of steel, and the prices change almost every day, so it keeps us on our toes. It’s a serious business, but we keep the atmosphere in the office pretty relaxed. We drink a lot of tea while we talk to suppliers and transport guys. The building itself is an old one, full of history and the sounds of other traders doing the same thing we do. We like being in the heart of the steel district because everything happens right here. You can hear the news of the market just by walking down the hall. We don't have fancy brochures. Our reputation comes from just doing what we say we will do. It’s about being reliable and knowing the industry inside out. We’ve been at it for years and plan to stay right here until we retire.
