You can find us at 67/15, Dr. M.G. Mahimtura Marg. Most people just know the area as 3rd Kumbharwada. If you’ve ever walked through these lanes, you know how narrow they are and how much metal is stacked everywhere. It’s a loud place, full of the sounds of clanging iron and people shouting over the traffic. Our shop is small and packed to the ceiling with metal stock. There isn't much room to walk around once we get a fresh shipment in. We’ve been part of this market for a long time. Sumico Metal is just a few of us making sure we have what the local workshops need. We don't have a big website or a social media manager. Most of our day is spent measuring pieces, cutting them down, or loading them onto small tempos that manage to squeeze through the street. The tea stall around the corner is basically our second office because we’re always over there between tasks. It’s sweaty, dirty work, especially in the summer heat of Mumbai. But there is a rhythm to it that we like. We know the other shop owners and the guys who push the handcarts. It’s a tight-knit community here in Kumbharwada and we’re just glad to be a small part of the daily grind. It's just how business is done here every single day.
