Sumer Metal Industries

If you head down to the First Kumbharwada Lane in Girgaon, you will find us at number 59/61. This part of M G Haveli Road is always packed with activity and noise. Sumer Metal Industries has been part of this street for a good long time now. It is an old area with a lot of history in metalwork and fabrication. The shop is more of a workshop really. It is loud, it is dusty, and there is always the clanging of metal being moved around by the staff. We don't have a showroom with bright lights or glass cases. We just have the raw materials and the tools we need to do the work. It is hard work and the days are long, but we are used to it by now. The lane is narrow, so getting deliveries in and out can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially when the trucks arrive. You have to know the shortcuts and the best times of day to move things without blocking everyone. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing any marketing. Most of our work comes from people who know where we are and what we can do with our hands. It is a traditional way of doing business, face to face and handshakes. We have seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the way we handle our metal stays pretty much the same. It is honest work and we take it as it comes.
