Sudarshan Steel is located at 17-A on Dr. Armaram Merchant Road. This is right in the heart of Bhuleshwar. If you know Mumbai, you know Bhuleshwar is one of the most crowded places you can find. The streets are tiny and always filled with handcarts and people carrying heavy loads. Our shop is no different. It’s a sturdy place because we have to keep a lot of steel here. The walls are bare and the floor is concrete because anything else would just get ruined. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and the smell of metal is everywhere. The road outside is always a mess of traffic and noise. We don't have air conditioning, so we just keep the doors open and let the city air in. It gets dusty, and by the end of the day, everything is covered in a thin layer of grit. We’ve been here a long time and know most of the other shopkeepers on the road. It’s a hard way to earn a living, but it’s what we do. We don't have any fancy brochures or a big website. People just come in, ask for what they need, and we see if we have it in the stacks. It’s a very direct way of doing business. The evening sun hits the front of the shop and that’s usually when we start thinking about closing up for the night.
