Steelo Fabrica

Steelo Fabrica operates out of the second floor of the Rangwala Building on N D Road. We’re located at 58, Islampura Street, right in the Bhuleshwar area of Mumbai. It’s a very old part of the city, near Cawasji Patel Tank. The building has that classic Mumbai feel with high ceilings and old stairs. We do a lot of work with steel and other fabricated materials. Because we are on the second floor, we don’t get as many walk-in customers as the shops on the ground level, but we stay busy with our regular orders. The space is filled with papers, samples, and the sound of fans humming. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, especially during the humid months. We spend our time coordinating with the workshops and making sure the dimensions are right for the steel pieces. There’s a lot of checking and re-checking involved. Outside, the streets are always jammed with traffic and people, so getting anything delivered is a challenge we face every day. We’ve been in the Rangwala Building for quite a while now. We know the other tenants and the local tea sellers. It’s a tight-knit community of traders and small businesses. We don't have a big corporate setup; it's just a few of us working in a couple of rooms, trying to keep up with the demand for steel products in the city. It’s noisy and busy, but that is just how working in Bhuleshwar is.
