Steel Sagar (India)

Steel Sagar (India) is over at Plot No. 48/50 on Nanubhai Desai Road. This is the heart of the metal market, so there is always a lot of activity. Our plot is basically a large yard and a warehouse full of steel. We stock all kinds of sections, pipes, and plates. It is a very physical job. We are constantly using the overhead cranes to move bundles of steel from one side to the other. The noise can be quite a lot when the metal clangs together. We do not have any fancy carpets or air-conditioned offices here. The office is just a small cabin where we keep the books and take the orders. It is usually dusty because of all the trucks coming in and out of the yard. We deal with a lot of construction companies and local fabricators. Every morning starts with checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be loaded for the day's deliveries. It is a straightforward business. We do not use any big words or marketing tricks. We just sell steel by the ton and make sure it gets to the right site. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, but we push through. It is just the way things go in the steel trade. We have been here on Nanubhai Desai Road for quite a while, and we have seen the market go up and down.
