If you head over to Nariman Point and go up to the 10th floor of Tulsiani Chambers, you’ll find Steel Next in the West Wing. Being up this high gives us a bit of a view, though we’re usually too busy with the phones and the computers to look out the window much. Nariman Point is always rushing, and that energy definitely makes its way up into the office. It’s a bit different from a workshop floor; it’s mostly just desks, stacks of files, and people talking about shipments. The elevators in this building can be a bit slow during the lunch rush, so we usually just stay put once we’re here. The West Wing is a bit quieter than the main hallway, which helps when things get hectic. We’ve got a small pantry area where the tea is always brewing. It isn't a massive corporate setup, just a decent-sized office where we try to keep track of everything happening in the steel world. The walls are a plain off-white, and we’ve got some maps and charts pinned up to help us visualize the logistics. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, so you’ll see people wearing sweaters even when it’s boiling outside. It’s a professional enough spot, but we’re not big on formalities. We just want to make sure the daily tasks are handled without too much drama and that everything stays on schedule.
