Steel Associates

You can find Steel Associates at 2/8, Sindhi Lane. We are in the Lotawala Building, which is one of those old structures that has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep sometimes. Working in Sindhi Lane means you are always in the middle of the action. It is narrow, crowded, and loud, but that is where the steel trade happens. We’ve been squeezed into this office for a long time. There are stacks of files and samples of metal everywhere you look. It’s not the kind of place where you’d bring someone for a fancy dinner, but it’s where real work gets done. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in off the street looking for a specific type of beam or plate. Sometimes the neighborhood gets so busy that you can’t even get a scooter through the lane, but we are used to it by now. The Lotawala Building has a certain smell to it—old paper and maybe a bit of dust. It feels like home to us. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we all look out for each other.
