If you look for us at 405, Vaikunth in the Sindhi Society area of Chembur, you will find our main setup. It is a place where we manage all the drink orders and storage. Chembur is a busy part of the city, and being in Sindhi Society means we have a lot of neighbors around us. We mostly spend our time loading and unloading crates. It is physical work. There is always the sound of glass bottles clinking or plastic crates being dragged across the concrete floor. We keep the inventory organized as best as we can, though when a big shipment comes in, things can get a little crowded for a few hours. The office part is just a desk and some chairs where we track the deliveries. We are not trying to be anything flashy. We just handle beverages and make sure the local shops and houses get what they ordered on time. Sometimes the delivery vans have a hard time navigating the narrow lanes when people park their cars poorly, but we manage. Most of the guys here have been working together for years. We take our breaks together and talk about whatever is going on in the neighborhood. It is a straightforward life. We focus on the bottles and the boxes. The humidity in Mumbai does not make the heavy lifting any easier, but that is just how it goes for us. We stay busy and keep the stocks moving out the door.
