Star Battery Charging Station

Our little station is located at Number 32 in the Fort area, which is a part of town that has a lot of history. You can hear the hum of the charging units as soon as you step inside. It is a functional space, mostly filled with heavy batteries and thick cables running across the floor. We spend our time testing voltages and making sure everything is connected properly. It can get a bit messy with the acid and the lead, so we have to be careful where we step and what we touch. People bring in all sorts of dead batteries, from small ones to big heavy ones for vehicles. We don’t have any fancy waiting area, just a stool or two if someone wants to sit for a minute. The walls are stained from years of work, but that just shows how much we’ve done here. Fort is a busy business district, so there is a lot of hustle outside our door, but we just stay focused on our meters and clips. It’s a noisy, industrial sort of job, but it feels good to see a battery come back to life after being completely flat. We’ve been at this same spot for a while now, and the local drivers know exactly where to find us when they are in a fix.
