St. Francis D'Assisi High School & Junior College

St. Francis D'Assisi High School & Junior College is a very large place located at Mount Poinsur on S.V.P. Road in Borivali West. If you live in this part of Mumbai, you definitely know where we are because the campus is quite big and has been here for a long time. It’s an old institution with a lot of history in these halls. We have both the high school and the junior college, so there is a wide range of ages walking around. The grounds are probably the most well-known part, as they are used for all sorts of things. The building itself has that classic look with thick walls and high ceilings that you don't see much in newer constructions. Being on S.V.P. Road means it’s easy to get to, but it also means there is constant traffic noise. The staff here have a very practical approach to education. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about getting the students to their classes and through their exams. On any given day, you’ll see boys in their uniforms heading to the fields or standing in groups near the entrance. It feels like a small village inside the gates because it’s so self-contained. Many of the teachers have spent their whole careers here, so they know the families and the local area of Borivali very well.
