Squirrel

You’ll find Squirrel over in Vile Parle West. We’re in Kanta Niwas on D J Road. It’s right opposite the Khokha Market, which is usually a very busy area. There’s always a lot of noise from the street, cars honking and people rushing to the station. The shop itself is tucked into the building. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Most people who come in are just locals or people passing by on their way somewhere else. We deal with whatever needs doing that day. Sometimes it's slow and we just sit and watch the traffic through the doorway. Other times, it’s a bit of a rush. The walls are a bit plain, and the floor has some scuffs, but it doesn't bother anyone. We keep our items arranged in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit messy to others. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My uncle started it and now we just keep it going. Vile Parle is a nice neighborhood, very lived-in. We like being near the market because there’s always life around. You get to see the same faces every morning. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to see what we have, they just walk in. It’s simple and we like it that way. No stress, just work. We close up on time and head home, ready to do the same thing tomorrow. It’s been this way for a few years now.
