Sonalika Metal Corporation

Sonalika Metal Corporation is right off the Pune Chakan Highway at number 74. If you have ever driven that stretch of road, you know how much traffic there is with all the big trucks going back and forth. Our yard is right in the thick of it. We deal with metal, so there is always the sound of clanging steel and the smell of cutting torches in the air. Girgaon is a rough and tumble area but it suits the kind of work we do. The office is just a small room with a metal roof that gets really loud when it rains. We don't have any air conditioning, just some old pedestal fans that move the hot air around. There are stacks of scrap and finished metal pieces all over the yard, so you have to watch your step when you walk through. It’s not the kind of place where you wear nice shoes. Most of the guys here have been working with metal for years and they have the calluses to prove it. We don't spend much time on the phone unless a supplier is late with a load. We just focus on the metal and getting it moved to where it needs to go. It is a gritty job but someone has to do it, and we have been at Highway 74 for quite some time now.
