Dahisar Pant Nagar 2 is where you can find us. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s our home. We chose this spot because it felt right, tucked away from the really noisy parts of the city. Solkadi is what we know best. It’s a simple drink, but getting the coconut milk and the kokum balance right is harder than it looks. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen just tasting things. We aren't chefs with big hats or anything. We are just people who grew up eating this kind of food and wanted to share it. The chairs are just basic wood and the tables might wobble a little if you lean on them too hard. We don’t mind. People come here to eat, not to look at the decor. Usually, the radio is playing softly in the background, or we’re just chatting with the regular customers. We get our supplies from the local market every morning. It means waking up earlier than I’d like, but the quality is better that way. Sometimes the fish isn't great at the market, so we just don't put it on the menu that day. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Dahisar. We just want to keep the kitchen running and make sure nobody leaves hungry. It’s a lot of work, but it feels good at the end of the day when the pots are empty.
