Social Indore is located in a pretty interesting spot in Byculla. We are at 66A inside the American Express Bakery House on Clare Road. It’s a bit of an old landmark in this part of Mumbai, and you can often smell the bread or whatever they are baking downstairs if the wind is blowing the right way. The building has that classic Mumbai charm, with high ceilings and thick walls that keep things a little cooler even when the sun is beating down outside. Byculla is a busy area, and Clare Road always has something going on, whether it’s people rushing to the station or just hanging out at the local shops. Our office space is fairly plain. We have the usual stuff like desks and computers, but we haven’t done much in the way of fancy interior design. We are more focused on getting through our daily list of things to do. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes finding the right door in these older buildings, but once you’re inside, it’s a calm place to work. We like the history of the neighborhood and the fact that we aren't in some boring business park. There are plenty of old trees around and the atmosphere is different from the rest of the city. We just show up every morning, do our work, and try to make sense of everything we have on our plates for the day.
