The Sneha Kapoor Institute For The Performing Arts is tucked away on the first floor of Sanardhan Towers in Kandivali East. We’re right there with Thakur College on the ground floor, so there’s always a lot of energy around. You can hear the music and the sound of feet hitting the floor from the hallway. It’s not a quiet place, but it shouldn't be. We have students coming in for all sorts of things, mostly dance and other performing arts. I remember when we first moved into this space; it was just a big empty room. Now it’s full of mirrors and people trying to get their steps right. The college kids are always passing by, which keeps the atmosphere lively. Being on the first floor is nice because we get a bit of a breeze sometimes. We do a lot of our work in the afternoons and late evenings when the schools and colleges let out. It gets pretty crowded in the lobby of Sanardhan Towers during those peak hours. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but everyone manages. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people just find us because they go to Thakur College or live nearby in Kandivali. It’s just a place where people come to learn and practice. We keep things pretty informal. If someone wants to learn, they just show up and talk to us. That's how it's always been here.
